Serviced Apartments focus on the Cost-Conscious
Thirty-eight percent of serviced apartment clients consider price as the most important factor determining their choice of accommodation. This is the finding of a survey conducted amongst over 3,000 serviced accommodation bookers on website Apartment.co.uk, indicating a shift in perception of a serviced apartment from a high-end, deluxe hotel suite to a much more accessible and mainstream, high-value but low-cost product.
"Both companies and private clients are beginning to realise that a serviced apartment is convenient and comfortable, easy to book but, above all, cost-effective. You simply won't buy this standard of accommodation any cheaper", claims Richard Majewski, manager of Apartment.co.uk, whose re-design and re-launch this week, reflects the emphasis on price as a critical element of search.
Other factors determining choice of accommodation include location (32%) and size of room (14%). Amenities and familiarity with the product were not as important, selected by 9% and 3% of voters respectively, reflecting an increasing awareness of and confidence in the serviced apartment product.
Apartment.co.uk was founded in 1995 and was the first website to offer serviced apartments to the UK market.
